I keep a record of when various "firsts" happen in spring, things like when the first robins show up, when certain plants bloom, etc. The official term for this is phenology. This morning I received the current blog from Pam Dawling at the Sustainable Market Farming in Virginia.
Boy, there's a huge list of things they track! It was interesting to see the difference between when things happen there and when they happen here.

If anyone is interested, go to https://www.sustainablemarketfarming.co ... pens-when/

You can't argue with a closed mind.
You might as well be arguing with a cat.

It's a long way off for us as yet. But I love this idea. A really helpful way of tracking where the season is, since the weather is different every year.
I have read that the best time to plant peas is when the Forsythia starts to bloom. So I planted Forsythia for that!
