Last fresh 2019 season tomato

Maybe this tomato was not so fresh anymore, but I just ate my last 2019 season tomato. It was a Kenneth's Piennolo picked from the greenhouse last September. I kept it whole this time on the kitchen counter at the room temperature. The others were eaten already by Christmas and I tested how late these would keep. I am now sowing my tomatoes for this year and decided to take the seeds from this to grow them again. Taste was still sweet, but not as refreshing as the ones last fall.
This one is a real keeper :)

Wow! That it lasted so long. It doesn't look terribly tasty, but I'd give it an A for effort :).

Compared to the ones in grocery stores during winter this was actually quite good :D

Do you know the difference between Kenneth's Piennolo and Kerstin's Piennolo?I am going to grow the last one this year and have grown Kenneth's some years ago.

I just ate my last Colgar Papuo, picked mid October, and found it delicious! It was small, and the skin is funny colored so that it didn't even look ripe, but it was not a bit wrinkled, and when cut, it looked like a lovely pink salad tomato. I'm definitely going to grow more of them this year!

I had not heard about Kerstin's Piennolo before. I got my Kenneth's Piennolo seeds from a grower in Finland who had got her seeds from Sweden. I found an article which has information about both of them https://rabarbertradgard.se/nu-vet-vi-s ... nolotomat/
It mentions that Kenneth's Piennolo should have potato leaves, but I do not remember at all what kind of leaves it had. (edit: I found a photo I took in the greenhouse last summer and the Kenneth's Piennolo has potato leaves.)

I have not grown many of the Piennolo type tomatoes. Two years ago I got seeds for Vesuvio Giallo and liked it so much that I started to look for other ones.

Would these types of tomatoes make good dried ones or are they mostly eaten as is, months after picking?

Will eat anything once before I judge.
Anything meaning any foods of course.

Some of the Ramallets have had such a mild taste for me that I bet they'd make good dried ones.

Thank you svalli. My seeds are both from Sweden in trades, and the Vesuvio Giallo as well, I also grew that one one or two years ago.I don't recall which type of leaves, but you are probably right. The Vesuvio Giallo I didn't keep, but ate it right away.Fine taste.
