Re: How's your weather?
30 degrees and cloudy here in NWI this morning, windy as well. Looks like were going to have a bit of a cold stretch for a few days here. Spring keeps popping up here and there teasing us with warm days.

Re: How's your weather?
we are currently having some really intense snow flurries. the wind is gusting.
then, the snow stops, and there are some brief, very brief periods of sunshine.
the wind is kicking up snow dervishes. its very surreal looking.
we went from snow storm a couple days ago to mid 40s, and rain yesterday back
down to low 20s today with 6 to 10 inches of snow predicted by morning. probably close
to 5 or 6 inches on the ground already. night time accumulation is going to be worse. it will be
an early morning because i open up, and will have to move that snow off the drive way. tractor is
plugged in. i will be blowing snow soon. you want to plow with the storm is the saying here. wait till
its all done, and you will have a mess to deal with. its supposed to warm up later in the week.
brief lull is over. now its back to intense snow flurries.

Crazy hail storm.
I escaped it yesterday but could see it coming in.
I also read it beat up a solar farm.

Re: How's your weather?
Been a lot of hail lately in Texas, especially nearby. But, no hail or even rain here yesterday. 47° this morning at 6:00. Another picture perfect day at 73° expected. Spring 2024 to date has been outstanding. 10 day forecast shows 44° for next Thursday’s low. As I understand things, these kinds of cool nights tend to be helpful with the potatoes growing more tubers, especially now that the potatoes have flowered. I’ve got a terrible craving for garden potatoes, may have to root around soon and see what’s there.

We had 1.6" of rain yesterday and we're again moving into the warm side of the spring temp seesaw. Looks like it's going to be a bit airish for the next several days.

I'm on the edge of a rain storm that stretches along most of the east coast. The wrong edge.

Re: How's your weather?
We had a rare occurrence yesterday - a double rainbow where the main rainbow made a perfect 180 arc with the ground. Very beautiful. I called my wife outside and we just sat and watched it for 15 minutes. Unfortunately I couldn't get a wide enough camera angle to capture the full 180 degrees because the rainbow was so close but I did get a video.

Re: How's your weather?
Here's a new one on me: warm fog!! A load of snow vanished already overnight, and it's already 14C at midday. Maybe some of the fog is "snow fog" just rising out of the snowbanks. Bare puff of breeze.
Normals for the date would be high of 4C. Previous record high close to 17C. we needed this.

Feels like summer out there, especially when you've spent hours pulling, hoeing, dumping, clipping grass and pruning weedy vines and trees. My back and feet hurt.

1" so far on the predicted 3 days of rain here. Gauge reset a half hour ago when it slowed. I decided against trying to rush potatoes in yesterday.

Re: How's your weather?
Now, after the constant rain, up to about 10 am, with a brief break, on and off. Now, at 2 pm, I am hearing thunder. And rain is coming down hard! Not supposed to stop 'til after around 6:00 pm. Well over an inch already, plus the inch yesterday. And they are predicting over 1¼" for tomorrow, before tapering off Thursday.

Re: How's your weather?
Wet, wet, and more wet.... We've had 2 storms in 2024 with 3 inches of rain, supposed to get a few inches of rain with this storm which won't end until Friday. It's great for my well, but wettest year in the 25 years we've owned our house.

Re: How's your weather?
~2.5"/6.35 cms of rain earlier...which shifted abruptly to a more...um...solid state when it got a tad colder.
We've already had ~4"/~10cms of wet Heart Attack April Snow and are expected to at least double that in the next ~ 20 hours.
Puts me in a P!$$y mood!

Re: How's your weather?
we will be getting some of that stuff too between now and thursday.
could be 6 to 9 inches of that wet heavy stuff. marquette area could be getting
a lot more than that. they are predicting winds in the 30mph range with 50 mph gusts.
winds will be from the north east. terrain, and wind direction determines who gets hammered.
looks like its marquettes turn. just got a notice that the macinac bridge is closed to loaded pick ups
and pickups with tonneau covers.
all the snow we did NOT get in december, and most of january is coming in march and april.
currently in calumet it is 40 degrees, overcast with a wind speed of 12 mph. not too bad at the moment.
wait a bit.
you git yer self a scoop on any of your travels north gotch?

Re: How's your weather?
The weather iny part of Down Under has been dry, with only 30.5 mm/1.22 inches of rain for February and March. This broke with the start of April, with 84 mm/3.36 inches received on the first two days. Should be able to get the ground dug up for the garlic once it stops.

Re: How's your weather?
Start of season will have to be delayed for maybe 10 more days, lots of thunderstorming and cool temperature lately and continuing. Flood and tornado warnings on going. Guess I got too excited from the faux spring and started my pepper a little too early so I will have prune them.
