East Coasters and this mornings Earthquake....
Was at the Dermotologists, wearing a tissue they call a gown, knew immediately what was happening - grew up in Southern CA. Nurse had the biggest eyes, she has been feeling light headed and thought she was going to pass out - didn't realize it was an earthquake at first. She went into the hall, apparently many in gowns came to the hallway. My Derm is just the most awesome guy, didn't skip a bit, cool and collected and continued on with his job - thankful he wasn't cutting anything at the time...
Been a while since I remember one here in CT, last one I can remember this big was ages ago, early in the morning and we were still in bed. This had a roar to it which I can't remember from those experienced in my youth and minor shaking lasted for some time after.

Here, in MA, it spilled a container of zip baggies to the floor, previously kept in reach on the edge of the furniture.

I was upstairs in my house, putting clothes away, when it happened. At first, I thought it was a train, on the track about a block and a half from me, which sometimes rattles the bottles in my liquor cabinet, but it got worse than any of those had ever been, and I could see the door, and things on the dresser moving for several seconds. I later found out that it was a 4.8 level EQ, with an epicenter about 45 or 50 miles N of me, so it was probably about a 3 around here. This is all everyone is talking about on the news, which I usually only look at for the weather!

I live near the New Madrid fault. When the 1812 earthquakes happened, there wasn't much here. If the same quake happened again, it would level several major cities. St Louis, Memphis, Nashville...there are old brick buildings everywhere that would come down.

I'm further north in New Hampshire, getting close to Canada and I can't say I felt it. We did get 18 inches of heavy wet snow starting two days ago and there are thousands of trees down on the power lines (and in my yard, sob) here in Northern New Hampshire. We, like many, lost power until just now. Kind of bummed I didn't notice the earthquake, but I was busy pulling snow off the roof

Bee happy and pollinate freely!

Nope, didn't feel either one of them, and we're only a couple hundred miles away.

No earthquake but yesterday someone on the highway had their noise turned up so loud it was vibrating my work van.
