Do I have a problem?
I have yet to get the first large tomato this year. I have picked a hand full of small ones. The problem is I have already started ordering seeds for next year.

Looks like you are suffering from what most of us around here have.

Re: Do I have a problem?
2025 will be my first season for growing OPs and heirlooms from seed. I've already ordered all my seeds (22 varieties) for next year, have them neatly organized and documented in my seed box, prepared a 2025 Word doc for journaling, a 2025 spreadsheet for data-tracking, and practiced fermenting so I know how to save seed next year.
There are plenty other much worse problems we could have.

Haha I donβt see a problem either !! I have only 3 plants with full tomatoes and rest will not develop in time.. so I was definitely shopping for seeds and bought a few myself for next year!! Cheers

No worries. I buy seeds all year long. In fact, I ordered some today.
It's just little ole me here and I have grown 36 plants just for myself before. Of course they are all not really for myself, they are for the MMMM. I need to share seeds with everyone to prevent them from ordering more seeds.

Same here, just got off a website that had some tomatoes I was needing/craving. have a friend at church who loves acidic tasting tomatoes. Ordered Thessaloniki, Purple Calabash(that thing is downright ugly, hope he will eat it) He said Silver Fir Tree tasted really bad. While I was there, found several others that I absolutely needed.MissS wrote: βTue Jul 16, 2024 10:13 pm No worries. I buy seeds all year long. In fact, I ordered some today.

This year I started well over 300 plants, Just put the last 4 in the ground yesterday and they weren't looking too good this morning. Still have to order all of the Dwarfs from Victory, I think my list has 28 packets of seed. Only had 3 varieties this year so no idea what to expect. BrandyFred is pumping out flat softball size tomatoes, have a couple ripening now. Hope they will be ready for National BLT Day.

Wait about 2 years if you think you have a problem now. You will be up to your eyeballs in seeds and plants and won't know which way to turn. and then slowly you will begin to realize that you were born for this.
Happy Gardening, we have all been in that same situation.

The pictures on the seed packets look so pretty tho.
No room in the house is off limits.
I have plants in the laundry room on top of the dryer.
One year, in back of my pickup truck.

I would grow 72 plants just for myself if I had the space.

I to give lots of produce away year round and have even gotten paid for it on occasion. Its not a problem, just open up a produce stand in your front yard.

Do what I do and save your favorite empty seed packets in a ziploc bag so you can look at them for years to come.

Order more last night even though I got some a few days ago.. I cannot find for the life of me Agatha tomato seeds so Iβm saving every one I have because her and Sasha Alta are the only ones that gave me my big maters and are turning even in this cold wet rain

Walk in my shoes, and you'd see what a real problem is.

Walk a mile in his shoes and you will be 1 mile away with his shoes.

Re: Do I have a problem?
Pick the wrong pair of shoes, and someone likely isn't making it a mile.
I have two good pairs, one's a backup in case the first pair get wet and muddy, and needs washing. If the second pair needs washing, before the first pair is dry, there is the emergency third pair. The 3rd pair will have a hole clear through the heel, usually getting to about the size of a half dollar, before pair 1 or 2 are about to get a small hole in the heel, and become the new pair 3. The original pair 3 gets thrown out, as I buy a new pair 1.

Don't walk a mile in my old tennis shoes, unless you wrap the heels and toes up with duct tape.

Been there, done that.TomatoNut95 wrote: βFri Jul 19, 2024 4:16 pm Don't walk a mile in my old tennis shoes, unless you wrap the heels and toes up with duct tape.![]()

When the soles start flapping, it's Shoe Goo time! That stuff really glues soles to shoes. Available at Walmart. But eventually the last resort duct tape comes into play. At that point they're one step away from the trash can.

Re: Do I have a problem?
Those look like mine but yes eventually the duct tape wore off and I chunked them. My next in line pair is losing their bottoms and it's time for tape.GoDawgs wrote: βSun Jul 21, 2024 7:46 amBeen there, done that.TomatoNut95 wrote: βFri Jul 19, 2024 4:16 pm Don't walk a mile in my old tennis shoes, unless you wrap the heels and toes up with duct tape.![]()
