Re: Well Wishes for Sue_CT
I just have to ask why a rib removal if that's what I understand being done.

Re: Well Wishes for Sue_CT
I am back in the hospital. Yale this time. Unplanned but I am ok. I have something called Thoracic outlet Syndrome that they found during my work up for a possible transplant. It’s when the first rib put pressure on a major vein and artery the subclavian vein and artery and causes them to be narrowed. They really need those vessels for the transplant so I had to agree to have it corrected in order to be listed for a transplant in the future.

@Sue_CT I have no idea what is involed with that but I hope that it's a realatively easy fix on your part. Hopefully it's a bladder gently pushed through.

It involves removing my 1st rib in my chest. Other stuff going on that we haven’t gotten a firm diagnosis for. I am sure I will be fine.

Wishing the best for you, Sue. If there are miracles of modern medicine, you're the person who deserves it to go off without a hitch. It sounds like you have the full attention of some really skilled people, and that's a good thing.

I have THE best teams at Yale and Brigham and Women’s in Boston. And they really care. I am very lucky.
