If a cooking recipe called for one large onion, would this one be a tad much?

You can tell Mr. Glazebrook really loves that onion! I wonder what became of it? Chopped up into a crowd sized cauldron of soup, or replanted and let go to seed?

The article says he lets them go to seed. Now why hasn't he grown an 11-pound tomato yet???

A 6 foot cauliflower is a little hard to believe.

I wonder what variety he started out with. The two big varieties I know of are Ailsa Craig and Kelsea. There are probably others but I'm not up to speed on varieties.

Record onion was Kelsea Giant. Biggest that we have in the US is Ailsa Craig.

Reimer seeds has the onion.
Advertised as getting to 33 inches in diameter.
That should be circumference.
Diameter would be about 10.5 inches.
