That's what my better half does. We have a drier but it is rarely used. It's easy to plan ahead with Weather Underground 10 day forecasts. Also saves money. We only fill our propane tank per year.

Bower, my washer has a choice of spin speeds so you can put it on high and it will get more water out. That usually results in more wrinkles, however. I don't think the spin speeds are uncommon in newer washing machines.

Mine has a spin speed called auto fold.
I tried it and my washing machine vanished.
I read the instructions and it says it folds space and time not your clothes.
Call factory if it doesn't return in a day.
It basically opens up a worm hole.
These new washers have all sorts of new features.

No joke that's where I'm at. Clothes on the line today, sunshine and breezy but -1C.

@bower Weather is a little better here...10˚C(50˚F). A few clothes out on the line and with our drier climate, they don't take too long to dry, especially with a little wind. Undergarments, wash cloths and socks are tossed in the dryer as they are too time consuming to hang out. Very few people in my neighborhood have clotheslines anymore but they come in handy, especially in the Fall when I have to dry out blankets that have been used to protect some plants from harsher weather.

I wish I still had my art book where instead of talking pictures I would draw everyday life with paper and pencil.
I'm going to let a little secret out.
All the time growing up I wanted to be an artist.
Life got in the way I was buried deep into my various forms of artwork and as far as my wife was concerned neglecting her.
That old wood stove brought this back to me because I used to draw pictures of the different animals that would warm up next to it.
More than once we had to bring a newborn wet calf in to warm up next to the old stove or it would die.
The mother would be in the barn waiting.
It would be in the dead of winter.
What the hell am I saying it wasn't we it was me because my dad was in no shape with his health to do it after a major heart attack.
I mean he tried but I wouldn't let him.

An excellent idea for my next science fiction short story. It gets published and you get half the payment.

@worth1 the love of art work is something else to add to your to do list in retirement.
A little sketchbook is a great thing to have on hand when you have to wait for something/someone.

I would love to be artsy. Drawing and music especially but what my mind sees and the music I would love to play never happens. I still draw like a six year old and I can't play a musical instrument or carry a tune in a bushel basket. The best I can do is paint a picture with words...and then I think the result is better than it is.

The amount of time and effort to do certain types of art is unbelievable.
I remember trying to take up engraving and it brought me back to welding class in school.
You start on page one and start making circles or loops or whatever and continue to the last page of a notebook.
Then go back and look at where you started.
It's training your eye hand coordination.
The same goes with musical instruments.
Nobody is going to sit down and be an expert without practice.
Some might be faster at it but faster isn't always better.

I just read an article on why some students are better at math than others.
They aren't.
Some students are raised up around things that might involve numbers and others aren't.
That gives them the advantage.
Or do the article says.

This feature might come in handy.
The two blankets spun out nicely.
No jumping up and down.

They came out fine but I think dryers need to rotate in both directions to untwist the blankets.

Well that's just great!
It took them how many years to figure out something that was easy to do.
I'm not a fan of the new washing machine dryer all in one thing either for obvious reasons.
The same with the 3 in one machine tools where you get a lathe a drill press and a milling machine all in one.
I think they're called a Smithy.

One thing I got to mention.
It has wifi connectivity.
Didn't get it for that but other options weren't available.
Lord only knows how long that would take.
Then I read that it is free for 6 months then you have to pay a dollar a month to keep the app.
Not gonna happen.
They say you can customize the settings.
I'm happy with the settings it has.
It's just a BS way to get younger people sucked into it.
I tried it on another device and it was stupid.
I haven't tried to do it nor will the app get put on my phone.
I mean like no robot id going to get up load and unload the thing.
Seems like everyone wants an app these days.
Oh it's not a smart washing machine.
Dear God how do you do it.
I get up and turn it on idiot.
Oh.

Just the sight of your washing machine message screen gives me the creeps!
What a crazy idea the wifi for laundry. Seriously. You will always have to put them in and take them out by hand. Where does remote come into that as a feature?

I did look at the all-in-one washer and dryer, not that the price wouldn't stop me but... a heat pump dryer. So efficient eh.
Only they say it raises the humidity in the room, and that would be deadly in my well-pump tank-filter system which already drips and runs with condensation in the summer due to the ice cold water from deep below.

@Bower2
You didn't see the rest of the control panel.

Whatever you do don't use the whites setting.
Good grief I've been waiting forever for this thing to get finished.
I had some severely sweat stained things I'm testing it on.
We shall see.
