Nicotiana/tobacco/TMV/tomatoes
I received several varieties of tobacco in the MMMM swap. I'm extremely curious about sending seeds out to participants because of tobacco mosaic virus.
Has anyone grown both plants in their garden, and did you have any problems?

I grow various Nicotiana plants every year and start the seeds indoors and have my tomato and Nicotiana seedlings in close contact under the grow lights. I have grown N. alata, mutabilis, sylvestris, tabacum and rustica. I have not noticed any problems caused by TMV with my tomato plants.

@Tormato I also have all of the varieties that svalli has mentioned. Some of them are even interplanted in the beds because they self sow and I have never had a problem with tomato mosiac virus. I wouldn't be too worried about sharing the seeds.

At some point in the history of my friend's farm, there was tobacco grown in the same greenhouse as the tomatoes. The tobacco seeded itself and plants continued to pop up in the following years. I only remember seeing them early to mid season, maybe were shaded out later, but the plants I saw were pristine, no sign of any disease on em, and no report of it.

In the past, I've not had trouble growing tobacco and tomatoes in the same areas.
