Greetings from West Yorkshire!
My wife & I ventured out to Flamborough a couple of weeks ago. Didn't see many velociraptors, but I bet these seals can bite

Hi, Tim. We go up there quite often, especially when the seals are around. Good cooked breakfast at the Cliff End Cafe, then a good walk along the cliff edge to walk it off.

Re: Hello from East Yorkshire, England
Rhubarb! I love the stuff but it's too hot here to grow it. It can't get enough winter chill hours to do right. Even the groceries around here don't carry it and most folks don't even know what it is except for us northern transplants. I'll trade you a big basket of peaches for a couple of big bunches of rhubarb stalks! Ah, fond memories of my grandmother's canned rhubarb sauce and homemade rhubarb-strawberry pies....eatenbyweasels wrote: ↑Mon Apr 07, 2025 5:06 amHello! "The Peach State" sounds so exotic, compared to Yorkshire's "Rhubarb Triangle", but we grow what we can grow.![]()

Welcome to the Junction, @eatenbyweasels! I'm in my 3rd season of container gardening in central Texas, USA. It gets better each year thanks to all the good stuff I learn here!

Re: Hello from East Yorkshire, England
Oh, Withersea, that brings back so many memories, many summer days there, especially as a kid when the train still ran. I have a great memory of Withernsea. I was once foolish enough to volunteer a sponsored walk from With, It started at what we called the castle by the beach and finished at a pub in Hulls old town .I think it was 21 miles. I thought I would never walk again, and have a very good memory of the length of Hedon Road, it had no curves and went on forever. Going to Withernsea by car was special,, a few miles from the town there was a large wooded area that stretched quite a way, it had a clearing about half way and a house at each end .My Dad used to tell me Red Riding Hood lived there, so there was her house at one end, Grandmas house at the other end and the wood cutters house in the middle. I always looked for the wolf.I can't remember how old I was when he finally admitted it was just a storyeatenbyweasels wrote: ↑Mon Apr 07, 2025 5:04 amHello! Lots of memories there . I married a RAF officer from Patrington and had good friends in Keyingham so know the area quite well.
Thank you so much for the memories.

My name is Kate and I have far too many varieties of tomato seeds! I have a very small garden but I manage to grow about 20 varieties per year. I live near the coastal town of Hornsea in the East Riding of Yorkshire. In terms of US growing zones, it's Zone 9-ish. You can also find me on various tomato-related groups on FB. I might even already know some of you from there.![]()
My perfect tomato is 45-70g, laughs in the face of storms and packs a punch to the taste buds. Apart from tomatoes, I like cats, dogs, my husband, my children, wine, France, foolishly large oriental poppies and using my breadmaker.
Where are weasels on your list of likes?

Hi, Kate! I am on the other side of the coast to you, a bit north of Liverpool. What are your favourite tomato varieties?
