Thank you. I would think that you would be able to prune this to one stem if need be and then grow it up a fence or a 1" x 4".

I took out my two squash today after a great month or so of harvests.

The photos tell the tale of SVB putting Tempest on life support. Rugosa F. was in much better shape, thanks to the secondary roots it formed on the main vine. Is that root formation possible in a C. pupo?

@MissS note how long the Rugosa F. squash got in two months in planted out in the garden.

Another weird deal was that the fruits themselves failed to drop their blossoms or failed to open their blossoms. I pulled the blossom off the biggest of the squash.

That blossom retention was not happening earlier on.
