Not a friend to your lawn, but I’m not sure if they attack tomatoes.

Thanks, and centipede grass we have. When it's not destroyed by moles and drought and weeds. 😅 Thanks again.

Looks like a spittle bug. Not much damage to veggies. They make little wads of foam to protect them while in the immature stage. You can hose those off.
