Re: Sam’s HGII adventures (with Owen too)
The garden was fully planted yesterday. Over 250 tomatoes and peppers have gone in. Zinnias were planted last night.
Today I will be amending the raised beds and planting beans, cabbage, cucumbers and lettuces.

Wow. That's lots and lots of work. I need a nap just thinking about all of this that you got done.

What a garden! Clean, neat and tidy and the varieties blew me across the street. The dog tags are such a clever idea. Sam, you have a fantastic garden. I see so many that I will be needing to order from your store come winter.
I love the video! BTW you have a beautiful voice for this too.

Excellent setup for your garden. Using video as a record is a great idea. I often do photos but it's not the same, if I don't go through and label them at the end of the day, it's too hard to tell one from another.

Yes! I often have the same problem. At least this way I can pause and take a photo if I lost one. Organization can be hard. I also like to watch any progress and changes through the season.

For some reason I couldn’t react to your reply. It only allowed an exclamation mark and I was afraid to click it as I didn’t know what it would doMissS wrote: ↑Mon Jun 09, 2025 9:54 pm What a garden! @Homegrwoninillinois I'm really looking forward to your followup video at fruiting time, and take a look at all these pretty puppies!!
Definitely lots to see there, and I hope they make a beautiful crop for you this year.
And can't wait to see how your own creations are fruiting!

Bower, I had a single branch on one plant that looks like this. I pulled the branch but I’ve not had this prior. I already removed branches near the ground on these so I’m interested in your opinion. I was worried this looks like fusarium in early photos. If possible I will go remove the entire plant now. I’ve never had it in my garden and my seed source has not either. So I am concerned.
Grandpa Charlie is the variety.

@Homegrwoninillinois To me it looks like a magnesium deficiency. It's not that big of an issue and if it doesn't correct itself you can add 1T Epsom Salts to a gallon of water. Spray the plant for a quick green up or just water the plant with it.
