Arkansas Traveler?

I bought some seeds from a vender for Arkansas Traveler, and I don’t think it’s what I received. But I’m unsure. It has grown very much like a determinate plant, as it’s fairly squat and all of the fruit are ripening at once. So that makes me think it’s not Arkansas Traveler. Also, the taste is very bland, and the texture is very mealy. I’ve attached a picture of one cut open. It is representative of all the fruit. Is it supposed to have 3 locules?

Hard to tell much from that photo, but doesn't look like it.

I'm so sorry but that is not Arkansas Traveler. This has happened to all of us. It's so disappointing when you get an off variety and not what you were planning on. It most likely is a stray seed in the pack so I wouldn't hesitate to try again from that pack. If it was purchased seed, I would let the vendor know though.

Thank you, Patti! I knew it couldn't be right, but wanted to be sure. This fruit is about 3-4 oz. It's about what they've all been. It's going to end up making about 25-30 fruit, that I'll probably end up canning. It's not a very good fresh-eater.

It's not the first time I received the wrong seeds. I know it happens sometimes. How can it not, with all the volume some places move? I'll let the seed company know, and we'll see what happens. Without mentioning names, this particular company doesn't have a great reputation for customer service, but I will give them a chance.

Arkansas Traveler has pink fruit. What color are your fruit?
