Just gonna have to ride it out. :(
Funny you should mention that. Just today I got my monthly La Niña/El Niño update from NOAA:

The latest forecasts from several models suggest the possibility of a strong La Niña (Niño-3.4 index values at -1.5°C) during the peak November-January season. La Niña is likely to continue through the Northern Hemisphere winter 2020-21 (~95% chance during January-March) and into spring 2021 (~65% chance during March-May)

We can also blame La Niña for the extra tropical action this year. Then there was a link leading to a map and more info:

Image

A retracted jet stream over the Pacific causes a ripple effect on the atmospheric flow across the United States. Warmer and drier than average temperatures over the southern U.S. while colder temperatures can filter in across the northwestern and north-central U.S.

Wetter conditions prevail in the Pacific Northwest and Ohio River Valley as storms follow around the blocking high in the Pacific or across more northern areas near the Great Lakes.

And the southern tier of the United States tends to be drier and warmer than normal as storms keep away.

The last time this happened I took a chance and got some spring stuff into the garden earlier than usual and I think I'll do the same this coming spring.

I just hope the tail end of that Nina arrow pushes us into the warmer belt! We never get a clear forecast with that, it can swing either way.
We had a couple of warm days this week - over 50 F ie "double digits" for us celcius people, which is cause for celebration this time of year.
Today was a bit cooler but what a great day. No wind, bit of sunshine, I think the high was around 6 C.
I stopped into wholesale to restock a few supplies before winter, on my way in to town where I bagged some good leaves to mulch the garlic beds. Back to the garden before noon and it was all spread and wired down and some other cleanup done by 2 pm, still sunny and calm. No better day for it.
Eta will be bringing us some mix of rain and snow tomorrow, after combining with another low (colder, apparently) and we could get up to 20 cm snow but I sure hope not. Not hoping to start my dating cycle with Big Red this early. There's more rain expected this week, which will probably wash up whatever does fall, but you never say never, the rain might be white any time in november.
Either way, super stoked about how this day worked out and I got the garlic mulched. Whether it makes a difference to the garlic or not, it's a source of anxiety for me every time we get rains and freezes, that's just been smoked!! Yahooo! :D

First frost of the season this morning, and a heavy one, at that. It got down to 38°, and the air was dead - something that hasn't been happening around here, which is why there has been no frost. The latest frost I ever had was the day after Thanksgiving that year, which I think was the 25th that year. It's still very wet, so I'll have to wait another day to work on those leaves.

Went from this, 20 degrees or so at 8,600 feet asl to 80 at 20, what a let down, literally. Cool front on the way, will be welcome.

Can you believe Iota is churning out there off central america? It looks as nasty as Eta! I've been telling myself that if it got to iota it would have to be a little tiny one, but apparently not! Revenge of the greek letters.
My garden looks like your picture today karstopography with the first dump of snow on ground, but it's been a bit over freezing all day so it is slushy wet and ready to re-freeze into concrete and slipways tonight.

snowing, and blowing right now. couple inches of slop on the roads making it very slippery out.
a little bit warmer it would be all rain. west winds are whipping along. the dog was yapping for
a walk so out we went. she loves the snow.

We had that front come through, that caused a lot of damage out in the MW, and sections of PA, before it came over the river (hope none of you are in those areas). It got very windy, but went through fast - in less than 10 minutes I got .53" of rain. It's still coming down, and the total increasing, but slowly now, and the wind has died down considerably. I'm hoping that this wind brought down the rest of the leaves.

It's been through here and so we're back to more seasonal temps for the next ten days. That would be highs in the upper 60's and lows in the 40's with one or two possible upper 30's thrown in there mid week. Its time.

Today is a beautiful day! Sun is shining, sky is blue and big fluffy clouds! Now yesterday, late afternoon early evening was a whole different story. I knew we were headed to OZ. The wind was blowing the rain, leaves, twigs and branches sideways through the air. Could only see the back yard briefly though the break in the gusts. Trees went down, power went out and it was pretty ugly there for a bit. Today is clean up day! Love this area but also happy we have a generator!

The rain ended at .6" last night, and no power outages around here. Almost all the leaves were brought down by the wind, and it's still windy today, so I'll wait and see if it dies down, before trying to clean up.

About a front a week is the pattern, latest came by yesterday. Cool Front comes through, Temperatures go to 40s at night and lower 70s during the day. That creeps upward with the return off the Gulf of Mexico flow to around 80 and 60s at night until the next front. Minimal rain as each front passes. Very consistent weather pattern for about a month, looks like the next front due over the weekend.

Probably means December will have some tricks, twists and turns. The weather, everyone talks about it, but no one does anything about it, lol.

Warm day here, into the low 90F's. Considering how wet it has been, the tap was turned off in late October, only 15 mm/0.6 inch in November, ground is starting to crack in places. Work has installed several face temperature sensing units, warm enough where one is located for it to say temperature is normal when you walk past with out looking at it.

It's 33 out there right now and it will probably drop one more before the sun comes up. Blue skies, no humidity; just great! This is the last day of those lows before it starts warming up again. The only thing in the garden that's covered is the carrot/radish bed. The brassicas are fending for themselves. Tomorrow we're heading back to low 70's with mornings in the high 40's-low 50's.
