Wispy pineapple?

Is it normal for Pineapple to grow with sparse and wispy leaves? My two plants are both doing this.

I agree with Dawn; I've grown Pineapple and they were never wispy. But your plants don't look that bad, at least not from the pics. I don't recall having so many flowers on a truss though. Mine were stingy in production, like only 2 per. But they were large and delicious. Maybe I'll grow some again...

Thanks Dawn and PeeBee

I’m not sure why it’s looking like that. Both plants are similar, but none of the other varieties of tomatoes I’m growing seem to be having any issues. I think it might be a cross pollinated Pineapple.
If the trusses set fruit I might find out. None of the flowers have set yet, but it has been hot lately.

Oxheart shape (which often goes along with wispiness) does seem to be dominant over beefsteak shape. I'm guessing wispiness would show up in an F1 cross.

My Italian Heirloom was wispy this year, too.

Pineapple (from rareseeds.com) wasn't wispy for me in 2016.

I can’t remember where I got these seeds from. I’ve had some fruit set and they might be looking a little heart shaped but it’s too early to tell really. I’ll have to patiently wait and see
