Thank you so much for the info!!!!!!MissS wrote: ↑Thu Jan 07, 2021 6:53 pm Belgium #7. Whoops I made a huge mistake. It is BULGARIAN #7. It is described as 80 days, Reg leaf, indet., regular leaf, red round fruit, slightly oblate, growing in clusters of 4-5, very good flavor., regular leaf plant with very high yield of 4-8 oz red fruit, very good flavor. Seeds trace to the tomato-history expert Andy Smith, whose son brought it from Bulgaria.

An envelope is labeled Mermaid '20 F1?
Google found two different tomatoes called Mermaid, neither one a hybrid: a large bicolor and a dwarf pink heart. Is it one of these, or something different?

Re: MMMM variety questions & maybe answers
The donor rarely puts a date on seeds, or states whether varieties are OP or hybrid, and sometimes sends in some hybrids. My belief is that it may be a dwarf since they collect dwarf varieties. I will eventually find out, when I contact them.habitat-gardener wrote: ↑Fri Jan 08, 2021 7:09 pm An envelope is labeled Mermaid '20 F1?

Did anyone ask about Big Marley yet? I'm assuming it isn't a cherry... but who knows.

I apologize in advance, I know that this thread is intended for some other communication. But I wonder if the offer of elephant garlic seeds has ever appeared in MMMM. Thank you.

Re: MMMM variety questions & maybe answers
Marzano Fire is OP. As is generally the case, it is hybrids that are specifically designated F1, OP are generally not designated or noted to be open pollinated just the name is used.

Do you mean seed cloves? Anyway, no elephant garlic has ever come into the swap, be it bulbs or true seed.
I do have true seed of "Diverse Shallots", if you're interested.

I wouldn't waste time on searching for that bean, yet. Pray for a miracle, first, that it germinates.

The first variety can be found in the spoiler alert lists (if it's my label, it looks like I butchered the spelling).

If it does grow, and grows big...don't climb it without checking out its provenance first....
