Mystery Tomatoes
With a lot of trading, there are always a few where there is little or no information on any database. That's especially true with foreign varieties. I came up with 14 and maybe some here know something about any of them.
Black Amber
Floridad
Franki Italian Pear
Giant Rul
Jaune de Togo
Kinalabasa
Kwangtung 108
Maigloeckchen
Margaritteno
Padano
Reigart
Tom and Gracie's Yellow
Tschio-Tscchino San
Venus Bruestchen
Spelling is as received and may not always be correct.

Re: Mystery Tomatoes
Padano is tickling my brain but coming up blank so far... Here are a few of them, though.

Re: Mystery Tomatoes
Perhaps the name is incorrect for Tom and Gracie's Yellow. I do know of a Lenny's and Gracie's Kentucky Heirloom which is a yellow tomato.

Padano Tomato Seeds
Info: The Padano tomato is a popular, fast-growing egg tomato, whose medium-sized, oval fruit has a firm flesh and a dense, burst-proof skin. The small tip on the underside makes them particularly pretty. The plants grow vigorously and can reach a size of 150 - 200 cm with good care.

Re: Mystery Tomatoes
Franki Italian pear is probably Franchi Italian Pear, one of the large red pears from Italy for sauce.

Re: Mystery Tomatoes
I wonder if FLORIDAD is actually this?
5-7 ounces
The Floradade Tomato is a delicious, bright red variety that has a great ability to withstand heat and produce high yields! This variety was introduced by the University of Florida in 1976. This tomato plant produces smooth, 5-7 ounces sized tomatoes with slightly deep globes that have red with green shoulders.

Re: Mystery Tomatoes
I grew Piennolo del Vesuvio last year, and found it both a late, and a LASTING variety. My tomatoes were identical to the photo.
The tomatoes really hold well, so much so that I don't recommend eating at first pick. I can see why they are recommended for sun dried tomatoes.
I grew mine outdoors in our coastal climate, and it was an odd year for us with unheard of late rains. It was really slow to get going but once it did, it starting pumping out many green trusses. The plant kept going, slowly ripening trusses and held on through the first frost. It kept producing even after the first rains in November. Honestly, I pulled the plant in December and despite loads of blighty looking leaves it was making pristine red fruits. I have them on my counter right now and am thinking I should save seed from them.
I had so many cherries I just threw them in the bunch. I will go taste test on my own when I save seed tonight.
A friend grew it up in Humbolt county in a greenhouse and got larger roma size fruit. Mine was more of a larger grape.

Aha, the unknown Venus is Piennolo del Vesuvio. I already grew that one in 2013. Agree that it's a good one for drying and also keeps well. Produced like crazy in that very wet year.

Re: Mystery Tomatoes
I don't like family heritage. Someone plants a variety and forgets what it was called. After a few years (5, 10,20 maybe even fifty) it seems to him that it is a good tomato and so it will give it a name, for example Venus's breast. The history is clear, this tomato was grown by my grandfather, probably from Italy, where similar tomatoes are grown under Mount Vesuvius (repairs du since the 19th century). And there's a new variety without putting my hand to work. Do you think that's right? I know Carolyn wouldn't agree with that either.

PS.:There is no variety called Pienollo del Vesuvio under Vesuvius or anywhere in Italy.
Pienollo is the way tomatoes are tied for long-term storage
Pienollo del Vesuvio is a trademark for all varieties grown under Vesuvius for long-term storage (Principe Borghese, Re Umberto, ...)
I also grow Pienollo del Vesuvio, introduced in the USA by Darel Jones, it seems to me much tastier than, for example, Proncipe Borghese. As far as I can remember, it is a variety of seeds taken from a tomato in Naples. It is a tasty, fertile and well-stored variety. It has potato leaves and looks a little different than Venus's breast.
