Re: Baker Creek closed "to catch up"
I ordered from Baker Creek today. They had the 2 kinds of Bok Choy that I wanted but the Tom Thumb lettuce was out of stock. No big deal, it's just something that I wanted to try.
I also ordered some Maxibel Haricot Vert seeds from High Mowing and they were in stock and shipped.

Re: Baker Creek closed "to catch up"
It seems that some are struggling and I see a lot of items "sold out" on most of the seed sites I visited. Baker Creek seems hard hit, they may have had a tough seed production year as well. Annapolis have a notice up that they won't ship until February, but they processed my order alright. And I ordered from Salt Spring Seeds two days ago, which shipped the very next day. They don't seem to be out of anything and perhaps they were just able to increase their production to meet extra demand. I also noticed though, that a lot of Canadian seed sites are not shipping to US or international this year. The pandemic shipping has been a bit of a fiasco all around.

Tom Thumb is a good one. Grew it last year for the first time and will do again this year.

ness supposedly I will be notified when Tom Thumb comes back in stock and I will order it. Little Gem was a new one for me last year and we loved it. It is a very small bright green romaine and they have that one in stock if you are interested.

Got all my seed packets now from Hudson Valley, Renaissance Farms, 3 different orders from Baker Creek, and Seed Savers. Still waiting for Fedco which is also stuck in transit from a Maine Center since 1/17 having started out on 1/13. Could be worse, I guess. Baker Creek has had the best record since they use DHL which seems to be more efficient. The worst delays occur when the packets get to the Post Offices. Things wind up in very strange places before getting to me! Just glad they do eventually arrive!

It sounds like some places are beginning to loosen up.

I ordered from Baker Creek at the end of January and got my seeds yesterday, less than 10 days total.

Seeds Now has opened up again, Heritage Seed Market will open February 10th, FedCo is taking wait list orders only now.
Here is the message from FedCo:
Attention! Due to very high demand, Fedco Seeds is accepting new orders for vegetable, flower, and herb seeds only from customers on our waiting list. Please view your cart in order to sign up for the waiting list. (Read more about the waitlist and current limits on ordering…) Due to high order volume and shipping company overload, it may take 4–6 weeks for orders to arrive. We appreciate your patience in this exceptional season.
Southern Exposure is open daily for a limited number of orders
per day.
To my knowledge most other seed vendors are open again.
If anyone has other updates feel free to post, as it helps us all with
planning and ordering. Thanks!

Re: Baker Creek closed "to catch up"
I'm not sure if it helps, but I placed my Baker Creek order on January 8th, and recieved it February 2nd, in Ontario Canada. That's actually only about a week longer than normal, considering their closures and COVID I'm delighted! ( Free seed was the Paris island Cos, which is great because I didn't have romaine seeds yet!) Picked up Granny Cantrell and Orange Accordian tomato.
My order from William Dam, placed the same day as Baker Creek still hasn't shipped. No idea when it will arrive!

Fedco now wants you to sign up for a place in line to place your order... I have the email but haven't read all of it.

Re: Baker Creek closed "to catch up"
My seeds arrived from Salt Spring - in the box today, so must've arrived yesterday. That's 15 days for an expedited canada post parcel from BC, which is about twice the time I would expect it to take pre-pandemic. No sign of others yet.
LindyAdele the keyword for William Dam is patience.. and they've always been like that, pandemic or not!
Great seeds though.
