Rocky Hillside Tomatoes
In reading discussions of soil preparation and soil containing numerous rocks, I thought about the history of growing tomatoes commercially where I live, in Taney County Missouri. In the late 1800's and early 1900's growing tomatoes for local canneries was a mainstay of the local economy. Tomatoes were planted on the rocky hillsides of Taney County and neighboring Stone County (name is not a coincidence). A little research, and I came across this article, which I found interesting.

Re: Rocky Hillside Tomatoes
Interesting article. Makes me glad I'm not a farmer though, especially a farmer in the early 1900s.
