Random and miscellaneous container plantings
About 6 weeks ago I put four small verbena starts in a plastic hanging basket. This is what they look like today.
Grow bags with a collection of basil, some zinnias, and some vinca. There's part of a grow bag you can see that has pentas in it.
All the plants were designed to attract pollinators.

Re: Random and miscellaneous container plantings
I finally started my zinnia seeds for container planting between tomatoes, but I put the new basil plugs directly in the ground.
Yours are looking good!

I love the idea of the mixed herb pot, I have some fabric pots that I think will do the trick. Mind if I copy ?

What kind of herbs would you use? When my gladiolus grow bag is finished blooming in a week or so, I may do another herb bag with different herbs other than basil.Amateurinawe wrote: ↑Tue May 11, 2021 12:29 am I love the idea of the mixed herb pot, I have some fabric pots that I think will do the trick. SpookyShoe I have 3 types of basil, thyme, cillantro, summer savory, marjoram, parsley and dill. Not going to put them all in one pot but haven't made mind up - probably split over 2 or 3 pots. I will however be planting watercress on its own in one pot - love the taste of this but it started to take over the raised bed when i planted it in with the tomatoes last year - so this year i shall tame it.

Re: Random and miscellaneous container plantings
This area is right outside the back door to the house and it is difficult to grow in- ground plants. Depending on the time of year it gets almost no sun whatsoever, to early morning sun, to very hot direct afternoon son.
So most of the area is planted with potted plants that I can move around. Some are annuals and some are perennials.

A polka dot plant. I started with three small plants in the container and now they are well over a foot tall. It must be grown in shade.
