Thanks for that! I looked it up and it's probably too warm here to grow it as it probably won't get the dormancy it requires. That may be why I don't see any around here.

Now, with the bench in place as a deep bed, I think that is just about it squeezed out of this plot. Saddle up the horses, we need to be looking for a new home....

The bench will be easy to cover as a sort of cold frame next spring.

Picked up some more compost today and also some stable manure. Thinking about trying to stack the bags to plant some more toms or perhaps do some big pots. But where do they go..

Plus it's been quite damp and will be so for a few more days, so need to dig out the spray if there is a dry spell.

The asparagus has now grown to eight foot tall I think, it can't grow higher surely.

The peonies have now met their last days but the Arun lillies are out and the true lillies are well on their way to bloom.

If this weather keeps flipping on a dime, I'm going to have to be on the lookout for a 14DTM....

The asparagus reminds me of my mom's patch.
We ate asparagus all the time growing up on the farm.
I had no idea how expensive it was until I got out on my own.
I had no idea we ate like kings and queens until I got out on my own.

[mention]Bower[/mention] we ate our full of it for 2 months and now to let it grow to feed the roots but it has surprised me so far. It grows really fast and each day I have to poke through new shoots into the support frame as I know a big wind can bring it tumbling down. It's also a nice North wind shield.....

And, also I love the ferns so we added a little fairy light effect....

These are some of my lillies from July 2019. That year I had sweetcorn in one of the raised beds behind. I can't wait as the lillies smelt devine...

I tried to do some crosses that year but with no success, it really is a long haul for Lilly crossing as you have to wait so many years before they mature and produce blooms. I'll give it another go this year now I have a greenhouse

Today, I transfer some more of the greenhouse plants, they are "too big for their boots". There is a cosmonaut volkov which I really want to bring on quickly and the polaris which looks interesting and is suddenly starting to be a bit vigorous. I could do with another 10 foot on my garden but then if I did I'd just want another 20 foot after that.

I can't keep up with All the suckers and I certainly can't transplant any more as I am adjusting the greenhouse shelves to give more height for selective breeding so they don't need to grow full height. Additionally, some very late pepper seedlings have come through... At last I think I may have a viable fushimi. I'll also make up some pots for some family members today...

The weather is still a little damp but everything seems to be thriving but could do with some more sun, even if that is only for my benefit

The pimientos de padron is coming on nicely, memories of when we used to go on holiday. Hopefully, we can again soon...

Some nice looking tomatoes and the plants look healthy. It's fun finding those surprises and seeing what your crosses grow into.
I found an almost ripe Sungold cherry this morning.

There are still twenty five more plants to find a spot for, and run out of space and only three large pots left.

Horror of all horrors, in my haste with pruning I cut off a MSITK tomato, it was the first tomato from MSITK and now it's not. Lots of flowers across all plants and the toothbrush needs charging.

We have a couple of days of unsettled weather and then things get better. I have selected the breeding lines for this year, I still have my wife's tweezers, and a) as I am still alive and b) she seems to have another set, I think I am safe.

Last year's F1's are fruiting nicely, we'll see what becomes of them.

The new fridge freezer will come in handy, perhaps I'll try my hand at canning. However, perhaps that is counting chickens and counting chickens I am not good at. I always count the legs and divide by two, they never stand still....

This year isn't over yet, but I am already thinking of next year. Aubergine and peppers I need to get early starts on. Tomatoes not so much, but am so impressed with the vigor of suckers. They catch up very quickly in the greenhouse and flower even quicker. And I still have lots of seeds from the MMMM that I want,/need to try.
