Yes peebee, you are correct she did send out seeds of Anna Maria's Heart. My memory may be flawed, but I think I remember her asking for seed for this from pondgardner and that she liked it very much.

Pondgardner, would you please tell us if that happened or not.

As the member who provided the original seeds to Carolyn for "Anna Margaret's Heart" and in possession of numerous emails dating back to 2013, I can attest to the fact that Carolyn did indeed offer the seeds in her yearly offer in 2014, and possibly in later years. And that she included it in her last SSE offering in 2014. I won't state that the tomato was one of her favorite hearts but she did look forward to a yearly box of Rocky Ford cantaloupe that I sent from Colorado every year until her death last year.

As far as "Anna Maria's Heart", Carolyn provided seeds of that as well but at least 5 or more years earlier and is a completely different tomato.

That's good to know pondgardner, thanks for clarifying these are 2 different varieties. I've received Anna Maria's Heart from Carolyn & don't recall the Margaret one, must have missed that.

Pondgardener, I apologize for thinking the name might be 'Aunt' instead of "Anna" Margaret's Heart. I still have seeds from you dating 2014, and will grow them secluded.

No problem Robert...I knew what you meant. I plan on growing from the same batch this year too. Hopefully we can compare results, although I am sure yours will be earlier.

Has anyone grown Todd County Amish? That's a pink I'm interested in growing.

Ponderosa Pink was one of the better ones out of perhaps 150 pinks but African Queen topped all. 5 or 6 1#+ fruit at a time and each perfect. 1884 was close behind.

Anna Margaret's Heart is the only variety (At the moment) that I am going to start from seed. I still have a full month to figure out if there will be any others to start from seed. My tomato seed start date is Valentines Day. Besides it working out well with the unpredictable weather locally - it's kind of romantic to start a heart tomato on Valentines Day.

So, I assume you get Porter (C. Herring strain?) as plants?

Yes, a local mom and pop nursery is where I first found out about Porter. That is If we grow Porter this year.
