Sun Gold In Containers
Anyone try growing Sun Gold in containers? It'd be in a 13"X13"/33x33 cm pot.

I grow them every year in containers, but a bit bigger than that. The thing you have to worry about it tipping the container over when the plant gets tall.

@Setec Astronomy; good news, thanks, and I'll see to it that it's anchored-n-bottom heavy.

I grow them in stacked 2 hole cement blocks no problem but I have to stake them.

Re: Sun Gold In Containers
Just to add, 13x13 is a bit small...the usual container precautions apply about them drying out, besides the tipping over issue (which can be related to them drying out).

@Setec Astronomy; would a good size be ~ 20"/50 cms wide at the top?

Re: Sun Gold In Containers
I grow all my tomatoes in containers. The vigorous cherries go 1 to a 25 gallon grow bag and the beefs go 2 to a 30 gallon grow bag.
I’d put Sungold in at least a 20 gallon container.
The fabric bags work better than hard plastic pots here in Florida, or you could go with earthboxes.

Re: Sun Gold In Containers
I did grow Sungolds in 12 gallon containers for a couple of years and they did reasonably well. Unfortunately I do have just about 4-5 hours of sun and I am sure I was not getting full potential of them but they were doing OK and grew to about 6'.
