Flower drop in dwarfs :(
I dont know whats going on
My dwarfs are refusing to set flower. My micros are all setting and giving fruit but the dwarves keep dropping them.
I have so many leaves and only 3 fruit.
I have them in the sun in my balcony in 4 gallon pots next to the micros. They did get white fly Idont know if that could be the issue?
Any thoughts on causes for flower drop?
Thanks!

I have tasmania chocolate, rosella purple, summertime gold and sweet scarlet.
Im in US zone 9b with a lot of morning marine fog. Temperatures have been mild like around 15-22C in the spring and 15-25C now in the summer.
Tasmania is the only one that has set 3 fruit. The rest nada.
The micros are doing fine though setting a lot of fruit.

Well the temperature doesn't seem too high but the morning marine fig may have something to do with it.
Lack of pollination due to high humidity and a wee bit cold at night.

Thanks worth
Just checked with some tomato growing coworkers and seems everyone in my area is having a bad season. So i guess the good thing is that is not just me messing up.

It could be the humidity. Try pollinating them with an electric toothbrush or a tuning fork in the morning. Just touch each blossom for a second or two to get the pollen to drop down onto the stigma. Some people will hand shake the plants but in this situation I would be a bit more aggressive.

I had the same problem with the dwarfs I grew, mainly Rosella Purple, Sweet Scarlet and Adelaide Festival. Pink Passion did well and eventually EM-Champion started setting after a lot of blossom drop. I'm in zone 8a.

I do wonder but the micros had no issue. I usually hand shake them but will use the toothbrush see if it helps with whats left of the season ( not much).MissS wrote: ↑Tue Sep 06, 2022 11:37 am It could be the humidity.
