So I'm finally down to the last tomatoes to have ripened on the counter. These are going in a beef stew. It was a pretty good season.

On the positive side, I just got seeds for the new Golden Hours micro from Wild Boar Farms. I was so stoked to find them in my mailbox yesterday. I got one soaking in a napkin immediately. My daughter insisted on checking it this morning, lol. So that's something to look forward to.

The lovely and long suffering Mrs. Gotch used half of the last ~ 35 tomatoes for her Aunt Jennie's Tomato Breads yesterday, and the remainder rendered for soup tomorrow...and it IS soup weather in these here parts!

These are THE last ones of the season: Upper left-Mortgage Lifter, the rest--late ripening, très firm Mountain Prides, destined for this season's last two (2) Monday Morning BLT Brunches 11/21-n-11/28.

Was a good year here too; sad to see it ending.

@Cornelius_Gotchberg Which mortgage lifter did you grow? I tried Estler's last year and was thinking about trying a different one next year. The one you grew looks pretty good.

@Toomanymatoes; "Which mortgage lifter did you grow?"

Couldn't say; like always, I get that variety at my local nursery; I'll ask.

Tried ML for the first time in 2019, and was so impressed with the production, size, blemish-free surface, firmness, and taste that I included it in my "Tough To Crack" rotation.

Them there last half of the last ~ 35 tomatoes which the lovely and long suffering Mrs. Gotch apportioned for soup?

This here is what it looks like; a très rich-n-red extravaganza!

Looks bigger than Estler, if I am remembering correctly. Grew it last year. Will try good'ol Radiator Charlie (which is likely what you have) or Halladay's nest year.

@Toomanymatoes; this image will give you's a better, albeit green, sampling...lower left tray all Mortgage Lifters, which all ripened over the course of the last ~ seven (7) weeks:

@Toomanytomatoes The upper left tray were an unexpectedly late Mountain Pride harvest, of which all stayed surprisingly firm as they ripened.

"I need to start taking more photos."

So long as you's take the (IMO) necessary extra step and post them...

I ate 2 tomatoes tonight with the last of my lettuce (they were the variety Polish) and I have my very last two tomatoes on the kitchen counter and they are Dester. This is quite late for me in NE Ohio. Usually I've had my last tomato about 2 weeks ago. I'm very pleased. :D

Here are mine. Harvested Nov 7th when I culled the plants. Just ripening now.

We've had much needed but uncharacteristic cool rains this month (more PNW than SF Bay) that ended my season a few weeks early.

Texture is suspect. They will be sauced.
