Sounds cold, but then again I don't do Celsius.

Apologies! I forgot I was on an American forum.

-30 C is -22F. ( @Sue_CT )
No apologies.

Plenty of Canadians, Aussies, here too. The only Celsius I go by is 0 and 100. Maybe some day I'll look at a comparison chart, and memorize it.

Currently under a tornado watch, not that serious of a thing, just a longer line of a front coming in from due west of us. I'd love to see rain out of it, but no tornado, hail or worse, straight line winds. It's gusty right now, but not much over 25 MPH, sort of normal. We do need the water.

My impatien bushes are a bit darkened. They must have been touched by light frost or close to frosty temps.

I know just what you mean @Julianna . Some of my lettuce and other greens are starting to have that dark blush on the leaf. Morning temperature yesterday was 28 F and the high 32 F in the greenhouse. This morning it is 27F, and more stress is showing. It is a lot warmer than outdoors but reaching the limit of cold tolerance. I know the soil is not frozen yet but may be getting there. Fingers crossed we get through another couple of days. I'm thinking to give them some warm water from the house but IDK if it will be enough.

It's been really cold here. It's the first time I've seen the chickens huddling together to keep warm on the floor of the coop. I feel bad for them, and take them warm oatmeal which they devour.

I'm below the snow line again (KOW), and should be getting a soaking rain later today, through tomorrow morning, which shows some radar in the yellow and or orange. The temperature will go down some, but rise some overnight! The areas north and west may be getting up to 6" of snow.

The first real snowstorm of the season was 8 inches of very heavy wet snow.

The snowblower didn't clog up too much, in clearing 5 driveways. My body is so sore that I don't feel the back pain. I fell asleep for a few hours with the laptop in my lap. I didn't even know I fell asleep until I looked at the clock.

In my neck of the woods we are having temps around 40 for the high and 30 for the low for the next 5 days. Today is the exception with the high around 53. Going to be starting some lettuce seeds indoors within the next few weeks. Hope we are done with the snow but can't count it out for another couple of weeks yet.

It's bouncing between 75 and 78 degrees today, the humidity isn't too high here yet so that makes it pretty nice out there. I hope you all warm up soon.

The local weather folks are now iffy about how much rain we'll get today. The one thing they're sure of is a lot of wind:

"It’s not a guarantee we see severe weather - but if we do it would most likely be late afternoon and evening. Damaging straight line winds and tornadoes look possible if storms can get organized. It will also be a windy day with non-thunderstorm winds gusting between 30-40 mph. Temperatures will be warm ahead of storms and reach highs near 80."

We'll see. We sure can use some rain to knock all this pollen down!

Arctic temperatures are finally retreating, but a couple more lows of -10C/ 15F at night. It has been fairly clear with a good bit of sunshine and not too bad for basking indoors by the window. ;) Nice view of Jupiter and Venus in the evening sky as well.

We are not in for anything like an early spring, according to the weather man. He showed maps of sea ice crowding down towards our shores, and of the number of icebergs out there (a lot!), and he says the prevailing wind is expected to continue northerly through march and april, which means it will be cold whether rain or shine.

Mom tells me the bay is already full of sea ice.

60°, 16°C at 09:00. Heading to 75°. Sunny, with a fresh northwest flow. The oaks are all flowering and leafing out. Very pretty.

Saturday morning low forecast to be 47°, 8°C. First foray into the 40°s since February 19th. Cool down forecast for end of next week. Doesn’t look too bad at this point, though.

Good morning, it was 57 degrees with a 4mph wind this morning around 7:30, the temps have risen to 60 degrees with a 18 mph wind speed, and our high temp today will be 78 degrees Beautiful day. I would like to plant some bean seeds today but not sure my soil will be warm enough to do that.

We're having a slight chinook here - which is odd for us so far north, it was 7C yesterday, a high of about 3C today, and then back down to highs of -8 to -15 for at least a week.

This is what we get for having a February where we had a bunch of above freezing days.

The wind isn't raging now, but it should start to push through as the temperatures lower again. Grumble, grumble, grumble.

My soil here 120 Northeast of you is at least 70°. I planted my pole beans the 19th of February and they are climbing the poles.

Waiting on 10" of snow that is coming around 10pm. Going to be wet heavy stuff.

Planting tomato seeds today to offset the feeling of a wintery storm. It is kind of working lol!

Do you soak your beans? I was going to do that last night and forgot so now I have nothing to plant again, lol. Another day, another timing fail :D
