Tomato Desserts
Anyone have any good recipes? Book I have has one for tomato sorbet that looks interesting.

Re: Tomato Desserts
One thing my family did for ages and was common practice many years ago was to sprinkle sugar on tomato slices for a dessert or snack.
To this day it is my favorite way to eat a tomato.
Another thing we did was to make tomato preserves.
If caramelized a little they were fantastic and I couldn't get enough of them.

Re: Tomato Desserts
I've tried that before. It's pretty good. Flavor-wise, it makes more sense to me than salt, unless you're mixing the tomatoes with other things, too.
But so I don't deceive anyone, I usually eat my fresh tomatoes unadorned, to date, unless I'm eating them with other foods, or as salsa, etc. I do like them with black pepper, though. I want to try them with paprika. Lately, I've been trying to eat more paprika, because of the carotenoids, like capsorubin and capsanthin (putting cottage cheese with paprika and black pepper on my baked previously-frozen burritos).

Re: Tomato Desserts
I think someone on TJ should try this one and report back (cherry tomato cobbler with basil ice cream):
