My first ripe slicer was a Creole. plus there is a second one not far behind. I've been getting Sungold, Snow White, SunSugar and a few Sunrise BumbleBees for a couple weeks, but I always celebrate my first slicer with a BLT. Will have that for Lunch today. Should have a couple of Big Beef to pick by Sunday. Then Lemon Boy and JD's Special C-Tex. By Memorial Day I should be floating in Slicers.

My Big Beef plant in the ground has over 24 developing fruit and is 7 ft tall as is GGWT. I'm glad I bought the extensions for my Texas Tomato Cages.

I'm growing Sun Sugar and JD's Special C- Tex myself. First year for the Sun Sugar... I really like the taste of it.

Nice to get that first one safe in the house and looking pretty. Too many bad outcomes are a threat for a tomato still out on the plant. I get a little more relaxed about the squirrels and worms once I get a few good slicers consumed.

My first slicer was a Cherokee Purple and I also made a BLT with it, with a side of salted thin slices. I look to be set up with more than enough slicers of various types until July.

I love this time of year, when tomatoes start accumulating on the kitchen counter.

What do your Creole taste like? Mine was slightly sweet, juicy and meaty but the soft texture is like a just ripe peach, which is a bit strange to me. Just wondering if they are supposed to be like that, certainly very productive plants.
