Catching rainwater!

We had new rain gutters and down spouts with leaf guards installed a couple of weeks ago. We had four inches of rain in the last couple of days. It rained so hard at times it took me awhile to figure out the gurgling noise I kept hearing was rain water pouring down the down spouts. With my old gutters usually half full of rotting leafs, the water looked and smelled horrible. With the new gutters, it was crystal clear and looked appetizing. I'm tempted to catch our water somehow instead of letting all of it drain into my neighbors large pond and the lake beyond the pond. I don't need it, because we have very good well water, but I sure am tempted.

Nothing like fresh rainwater for the grass and garden. I've been collecting rainwater for years for the garden. It makes great compost tea as well. I have over 10, 5 gallon buckets around the house where water pours off the roof and awnings and I collect the water. Why let it water the concrete driveway when U can use it for most anything. I LOVE catching the rainwater and have for many years.

I collect my rain water in a 330 gallon tote for use in the garden. I also have a well but do not want to deplete that water for watering plants.
