What is planned for planting 2020?

I know I want to grow more tomat varieties than I have room for in the front, LOL, but my list is still up in the air for a large part of which varieties.

What'cha gonna grow this year?

Regrouping after a rather short season. I planted late, had a good harvest starting mid-August, went out of town in mid-September, and when I returned the leaf-footed bugs (LFBs) had found my tomatoes! I stopped picking by mid-October (usually in this climate I might have let them go until early December), and when I pulled up my plants, found root-knot nematode symptoms on most plants, especially the ones I'd bought as seedlings locally.

So for now, the only definites are Green Bee (which has thick skin, resistant to LFBs) and perhaps some RKN resistant ones. But I'm also moving to a different plot in the community garden, so RKN may not be an issue.

Probably I will, as usual, start too many varieties anyway and see what does well.

Dawn, I grew Berkeley Tie-Dye Green, and found it was really strong good flavor. We found out later that we had grown it in about 8" of soil, and it still thrived.

Several on the list are recently named stable crosses which will be available at Heritage Seed Market sometime in 2020. There's a number of members at Doc's planning on growing them this coming season.

Besides tomatoes, what will everyone also be growing?

I want to start an herb bed in back by the back door, peas, beans, my beloved Mirai corn, squashes both summer and winter ( I have some seed for Gill's Brothers Golden Pippin, a smaller acorn that is very good), some teeny pumpkins, cucumbers, lettuces, eggplant and more than I can think of right this second!

Watermelon, wonderberries, muskmelons, West India burr gherkins, summer savory, peppers, epazote, corrales azafrán safflower, sunroots, horseradish, chicory, probably basil, probably okra, hopefully Job's tears, etc.

Lonejack, I'd really like a report on how the Romanesco does for you.

I grew it last year and it did great until the SVBs found it and I didn't catch it in time. I harvested at least a dozen before it succumbed. The taste and texture is much better than any regular zucchini I've ever grown.

ETA: Baker Creek offers it with free shipping so hard to go wrong! I loved the scalloped shape of it when it is sliced.
