Re: Flower development
I don't know what I'm talking about, but last year I had a couple of plants that had those "false" flowers. It consternated me because I was waiting for the first flower to prune the branches below, which I did, and then the "flowers" never became flowers.

Re: Flower development
Seems they may be receiving too many hours of light. The plants are just happily growing in the abundance and there's no concern to set fruit at the time.

Re: Flower development
My plants that got those little dud flowers were outside...not sure how that can be too much light. I think you just need to give them some more time, but as I said, I don't know what I'm talking about.

Re: Flower development
I've had those fake flowers on my plants. Real flowers will develop. Occasionally the fake ones will swell and grow much later.

@AKgardener
Don't forget that Bush Goliath F1 is a determinate variety, specifically of the sort where all the fruit ripens at once.
I don't know, but it's possible that this means all the flowers bloom at once, too; so, maybe it's waiting for more buds.

Re: Flower development
I have seen this on a few plants, it's very frustrating. IMO the plant just doesn't have the conditions it wants to set fruit. Maybe it wants to be a bigger plant. Maybe roots are not developed enough. I remember several vars that did this, both determinate and indeterminate. I think it was the cold in that case and maybe not enough sunshine/ too crowded. At least those were the conditions both times that I recall. Both of them eventually set fruit, but much later than any other plants in the year.

Re: Flower development
It’s probably due to the fact that I’m growing them indoors and not the ideal conditions they want but I’ll keep trying and see even if it takes 6 months haha I’m willing to wait cause this is truly an exsperment to see if I can grow a full size tomato plant indoors

Re: Flower development
When you get that stemming shooting out, you know they will make flowers!
Incidentally, when plants stubbornly refuse to flower beyond the days expected, pruning hard will help.
