Does anyone have thyme and/or oregano seeds?
Both my herbs died this fall, after a few good years. They were grown from seed. Unfortunately I wasn't able to save seeds as they died before flowering & I forgot to order any in my recent orders so I thought to ask here first.
I can do SASE or if you'd like to trade I have fresh Genovese & globe basil, mizuna, mixed beets, several varieties of lettuces among other things.
Thanks!

I have a bunch of oregano down in the garden. I rarely pick it but my son takes as much as he wants when he visits.
I have no idea when it goes to seed. I will take a look next time I wander down to the lower garden. You are certainly welcome to seed if I have it.

I'll inventory the rest of the MMMM herbs tomorrow. Basil is updated, found in the "2022 non-tomato/pepper" thread.

I have some thyme from baker creek, 1 yr old. I'm not sure the variety. It seems good, I'm hoping it overwinters okay.

I have German Winter thyme and True Greek oregano.
Also check the "2022 non-tomatos/peppers" thread for brassicas. There are plenty of Asian greens.

I have English thyme, commercial Park seed purchased December 2020. I can send about 15 seeds; no trade or postage needed. PM me if you'd like them.

I just collected seed from my plants at least I think they are seeds. There were numerous dead flowers. I took a quick look after harvesting and there were some very tiny little things I think were seeds I don't know what else they would be. I don't know the type. I probably got starts from a nursery at least five years ago. It is probably common. I looked at images of oregano on Google images and my best guess is Italian oregano.
If you are interested PM me your address and I will send them to you. I don't need anything in return.

They should be very tiny, and likely dark colored. While I have no experience with immature oregano seeds, my guess is that they would be off-white to tan.zeuspaul wrote: ↑Tue Dec 13, 2022 4:37 pm I just collected seed from my plants at least I think they are seeds. Seeds? are in the mail. At least they look like seeds when viewed under a magnifying glass.
I did a Google search and one comment was oregano seeds are "dust like". I found an image and they appear to me to be about 0.8 mm. I think my seeds? are about 0.5 mm.
I could test germinate them but that might take a week. So I just sent them as-is.

0.8 mm is about twice the size of what I've seen.

Well, I'll let you both know if they are really seeds, if they germinate. Which I'm sure they will.
Thank you both!
