Hello from the Florida Panhandle

I wanted to introduce myself. I have read posts here for about a year. I have enjoyed growing my stash of seeds from reputable sellers mentioned here an in other forums.

Bill Jeffers and Karol Galbiati’ creations (Rosedale Tomato Works) have been rockstars this fall. Indian stripe is another favorite. Several of Blane Horton’s varieties have done well too. (Copperhead and Lady Madonna).

Heat and humidity are my main nemesis. I have a Spring and Fall garden. Pests and diseases are worse in the spring. I follow best practices mentioned here to delay foliage diseases.

I am a bit shy posting but love learning from the masters by reading old and new posts. Thanks so much for having me!

Welcome! :)
Heat and humidity are becoming my nemesis too, in the short summer that we have.
Indian Stripe is an old favorite that I should grow again. I haven't grown Bill Jeffers' tomatoes but I remember discussions of his work back at T'ville. I would like to try some! Now that the hotter, humid summers are becoming routine, I need to change my lineup. But they still have to be fairly short season to produce here. Much mulling of possibilities to come this winter.
Thanks for naming your faves!

Welcome to the Junction @jeepgirl8. I'm happy to know that you have already learned so much. I have grown several of Bill Jeffer's tomatoes and have liked them all.

You are fortunate to have two seasons to grow tomatoes in. Where are you located? Please add your location to your profile so that we can understand better your growing climate.

Welcome to the forum! (and now also the swap)

I see that several people are mentioning Bill Jeffers' creations. I haven't announced it, but Karl G has been supplying a small number of his creations to the MMMM for the past couple of years. If enough seeds can be sent in, and there is a request for them, a new category of the swap can be along the lines of a "Create your Own Heirloom" (starter kits), with a nod towards Bill and Karol.

Welcome aboard from the White Mountains! Did my Naval flight training in the panhandle at Pensacola about a billionty years ago, and remember that hot and humid weather in the Spring and summer.

Welcome from NE PA. You certainly seem to be learning a lot! Rosedale is one of my favorites as well! Also been lucky enough to have some members introduce me to a few of Bill Jeffers varieties as well!
