Re: 24 Seed Catalog
I order from them all season long because of the free shipping. If I need more of a seed it is nice to able to order 1 or 2 packs. The purple tomato looks intriguing. Looking forward to hearing what people think of it!

LOL! Not me! I usually order by Dec 31st but I'll hold off this year pending the arrival of the MMMM. It always results in changes to plans so this year I'll just wait!pepperhead212 wrote: ↑Thu Nov 02, 2023 8:36 pmAnother question would be, who hasn't ordered already?

Re: 24 Seed Catalog
I used to just set catalogs aside, in a pile, and after Jan 1st, I'd start looking. That was back when I was working, plus I was baking thousands of cookies every season, and as soon as my garlic was in, my cookie dough would start getting made! Don't make nearly as much now - far fewer to give them to, and some people can't (i.e. shouldn't) be eating sugar anymore!
One reason, that didn't used to happen, that now causes sales at this time of year, is online sales 50% off, or free shipping, etc., for end of season seeds. I didn't used to see this, at least not often.

Tomato Growers Supply Company is in the house!
TJers (ahem!) claiming to have not placed any orders; understood, it's early November.
The real TEST is how many catalog pages you've dog-eared...

Re: 24 Seed Catalog
I splurged earlier this year and pre ordered the "Whole Seed Catalog" from Baker Creek. It arrived 2 days ago and I have yet to get a chance to look at it. DH snagged it and is reading it. He comes upstairs yesterday sighing and says I wish our lot was bigger... asks how long our growing season is (this scares me a bit) and of course he want sto know if we can grow the tomatoes on the cover. I wonder if I have created a monster?

Re: 24 Seed Catalog
I’ve gotten Baker Creek, TGS, and Pinetree at this point. I do like to look through them and get ideas, but prefer to order online. Baker Creek’s 2024 catalog did motivate me to recently place an online order some Gelber Englischer Custard Squash, Patisson Golden Marbre Scallop Squash, Honeynut squash, and Long White of Palermo Zucchini. I feel like if I don’t jump on these early, they’ll sell out.

Re: 24 Seed Catalog
@wykvlvr I’ve got the whole catalog coming too. Hopefully soon since you already received yours. That massive tome is a work of art every year, I love it.
Of course I have issues so when I ordered the big catalog I had to impulsively order broccoli seeds also. Guess the foour varieties I’m trialing weren’t enough…

Re: 24 Seed Catalog
I received the High Mowing catalog yesterday! TGS came last week. The High Mowing one is thick and beautiful, now eagerly awaiting Johnny’s and Harris (that one isn’t as exciting, but I order most of my non-tomato seeds from Harris, so it’s my most used).
