13+ Violence, smoking, sexual content
I'm looking for good stuff for kids to watch in case family comes. I see something that would be perfect for little kids. Oh, wait-
Warning advisory, 13+ Violence, smoking, sexual content
Guess what show on Amaz Prime I just started streaming, that has those warnings for content.

Little House on the Prairie. The most wholesome show I have ever seen or could think of is considered violent by those in control. And yet there are tons of other stuff on there -much newer shows - that are totally violent including "shooting people in the head" without violence warning and not marked as mature. Cars blown up. Countless murders for money. Ultra violent cartoons that are marked Y7 - and I don't mean tom and jerry and a garden rake, I mean people murdering people and getting avenged by superheroes. Lots of shows include drug use and have no warning for it, not even smoking since it just pot, not evil tobacco.
But Little House on Prairie is 13+ with a warning because of some pipe smoking after supper after working dawn to dusk.
Yeah, sexual content. Laura pointed out that one of the new horses was boy, and the other one is going to foal, so yeah, lots of TNA.

Common sense media seem to fair with it’s assessment of Little House on The Prairie and gives it an ages 7+. Amazon Prime is just stupid.

I've been to Laura's house in Missouri not 10 years after she passed away at 90 years old and I rode a train to get there.
I was in the second grade and my teacher's name was Liz
She came to my highschool graduation in Oklahoma from Arkansas years later with the car that I bought with my own money.
It was 9 years old and I paid 295 dollars for it and it ran.
Drove it to California.

Re: 13+ Violence, smoking, sexual content
Baywatch.... is marked TV-PG, with no other warnings.
Baywatch has fighting practically every episode, sexual innuendo, full on sex scenes, plus running gunfights, serial killers, hostage taking and murders in way too many episodes after the first season (first season was network censors, rest of seasons were syndicated/cable). Frankly, one murder is too many for show about Santa Monica lifeguards. The main actress left the show after two seasons because it was too icky/sexual, she didn't feel comfortable.
But they don't have a guy (implied/offscreen) shooting a gobbler with a caplock, so it doesn't need that violence warning. Then the wife is plucking it later. That's violent. On Baywatch, someone murdering an old guy in a kayak with a crossbow, that's not violent, they were evil hillbillies that wanted his gold. That's not violent, just good business ethics.

You must be taking about Erika Eleniak.
I never saw one episode of Baywatch.
Or any of the other like shows of that time period.
Lord only knows what I was up to.

Last night I got a warning about violence before watching a UFC event. Thanks. I might not have figured out that a sporting event that's literally locking two people in a cage to fight just might include actual fighting.

If you google the name of the show or movie like this:
Thelma and Louise IMDB parents guide
you'll get all the details about what anyone could possibly object to (rating-wise, I mean) in the movie or show, including counts of occurrences of swear words and obscenities (30 F-words in T&L, if you care), instances of bare skin (e.g. woman in a bikini), actual nudity and sex, implied sex, sexual assault, violent incidents (briefly described so you know what type and degree of violence), alcohol use, drug use & smoking, and generally frightening or intense scenes. They try to keep the biggest plot points in a "spoilers" section, but obviously you're going to get some of the plot in a summary like this.
Maybe when the AI Paradise* arrives, there will be a specific rating system for each of us, tailored to factor in only what we object to. Some people will never have to look at bare female shoulders again, and I'll never have to accidentally watch another crime show about a woman being stalked, kidnapped, tortured, raped, dismembered, and murdered by a psychopath.
*I am not actually expecting anything like paradise, in case that's not clear

This is a warning.
If you don't like blood and horrific looking pictures then do not scroll down.
It's looks a lot worse than it really was and yes it is my bloody hand after it slipped and scraped against a sharp edge.
It's much better now and zero infection due to my quick actions with 90% alcohol and hydrogen peroxide.
You have been warned.
Rated R.
Not recommended for children or squeamish people.

Re: 13+ Violence, smoking, sexual content
It is crazy the amount of violence on shows since about the mid 90s on, and just progressively worse. I think there are more murders on screen each year than were ever done in the last century. I much prefer old shows for content, and also for acting and cinematography. The new stuff, the camera angle changes every 1.5 seconds, it is no wonder so many kids are diagnosed with ADD and such. And there is SO MUCH stuff now, the quality of acting and writing is so watered down. It's not just the cream rising to the top anymore that is worthy of film cost and airtime.
Yeah that's ugly worth. I hate cutting myself. I stay away from power tools when I can so I don't get too many ugly ones. I end up cleaning a lot of game so slices and bone pokes are inevitable. I try to keep peroxide in the boat and use it and scrub anytime I get stuck by a hook or fin.
A couple deer back I left it overnight with the skin on, real cold night, I just got it started and got the achilles on the gambrel and hung it that way. Late the next afternoon I got back to it, and late season in the cold, deer hair wants to fall out easy. So I'm pulling the skin with left hand keep getting a dirty, loose grip from the hair, and the knife was so sharp it was cutting right through the cold skin, and my hands are freezing on the cold meat. I should have stopped for a bit due to cold hands but wanted to get it done in the light, and next thing I know the knife bumped the tip of my left forefinger. Just a touch, but I knew, I didn't even look at, just went inside to the bathroom. Blood everywhere. I squeezed it for a few minutes, wrapped it tight in paper towel, then stuck it in a nitrile glove to keep it clean, then with a cut resistant glove. I had forgot I bought those gloves (for that mandoline). After finishing up I took the gloves off and the bleeding was mostly stopped, so then peroxided it and put on a tegaderm. They would not stay on long of course on a fingertip. Couple days later it was still gapping a lot, so I washed again and then super glued it. That finally took care of it.
I noticed one of the Little House episodes said 7+....so upon review, it looks like they rated the episodes individually. Most are 13+, some are 7+, and a few are ALL. But that means that first episode that was marked 13+ was actually reviewed, and rated as such? It is almost dumber if that is possible. So then the kid pointing out that the pony was a boy must have been the "sexual content", cause that's all there was. I would certainly have graded it G/ALL. I've been watching these now LOL, really great show, never really watched it before. Probably the early ones are the best, that's how most shows are. I couldn't look at the screen on the one episode where the dad has to try to earn money and works a quarry job...two man teams, one swinging the hammer and the other holding the chisel. Holding the chisel with bare hands...I don't know if that was ever done or not. I guess? If figure if you can make a cold chisel, you can sure bend a two stage holder from wrought iron to hold and rotate the chisel. That was scary to watch, not violent, but scary.

@JRinPA
I can guarantee you that the sledgehammer and hand drill is real and they did it without gloves.
My father did the same thing when he did this kind of work for the same reason.
He cringed when he saw that episode.
Good way the lose a hand.
But we all growing up had to learn how to swing a sledgehammer that way while someone held the post or whatever.
I did it in a rock quarry as well with feather wedges in the winter of 1989.
I learned to swing the sledgehammer like a windmill in a full circle and hit whatever I was swinging at.
I literally started in grade school working with my dad.
I know it seems like I've done it all but by damn I had a hard life growing up with little childhood like the other kids.
My once upon a time girl friends first time seeing me was swinging a big sledgehammer with no shirt and a washboard stomach.
It was love at first sight because all the other boys had pot bellies.

Not for me, not in a rock quarry with blasting going on. The risk/reward ratio is just not there. I've done some blacksmith stuff with a brother, beating billet in sync, but I would make a jig to hold and rotate a chisel like that. (called drill since if it is a round point??)

They looked like this.
That's why Mr Edwards would give it a twist every time the hammen known as a striker would hit the bit.
I've actually done it at work because I was too lazy to drag out all the power tools to drill a couple of little holes in stone.
"My daddy" in the thickest proud southern accent taught me how to do all manner of things with stones growing up.
Including splitting flag stone for paving.

I got some of them downstairs. Never a use for them here. A lot of scenes on that episode, the hand were about 4" under the top. I don't know, I guess l learned early, work smarter, not dumber lol. I don't see why you can't hold and spin that with a simple jig, like a pair of clamps in tandem, hold for hit, rotate, slide1 back, slide 2 back. Keeping good hands it important.

It was the 1800s.
Not much workers rights back then and the holding device costs money.
I think they did have something though.
