Muddy Bucket Farm Exhales
There is an event that can happen when you have only one seed left and don't know where to get more. It's called exhaling with a distinct sound of "Whew" followed by "Oh, Yeah!!" and then a fist pump.

Congrats! It is scary planting that last seed. I'm glad that you can take a breath and now have hang on to make sure that baby survives.

Thank you folks. I also put my last two seeds of Gildo Pietroboni that I got from Amideutch back in 2009 in the mix and both are up after only 4 days. It's like Mother Nature is apologizing for last year.

That's great, Ted! I had that same thing happen. Planted my only seed of Bajaja 2 days ago and today it's showing a little loop! Boy, that's a great feeling, isn't it?

I can really identify with Ted’s euphoria. Am waiting with bated breath for my last German Queen seed to germinate. Ironically I had made a note that Muddy Bucket Farm has this variety so at least know where to get more for next season!

Re: Muddy Bucket Farm Exhales
Thanks, Karen. That one little "last" seed was about half the size of the usual seeds for that variety, and, to be totally truthful, was not a "first choice" to plant. But I decided "What the heck, might as well give it a try".
BTW, I sent some mail to Ontario and it arrived with no fuss. So, it seems that envelopes can still go where no humans are allowed.
Be safe and be well. I really enjoy your facebook posts.

Captain Kirk to engineering: "What's the status, Mr. Scott?"
Commander Scott replies (imagine his Scottish accent) "Captain, there be babies here."

And, because the local folks here love German Queen, I keep plenty of seeds in stock. I have given the local high school greenhouse a couple of hundred seeds and then tried to teach them how to save their own. Very popular here.

Re: Muddy Bucket Farm Exhales
Good to know! If my poor last one doesn't germinate I will get some from you for next season! I haven't grown this for a couple of years but remember it did really well so was hoping to get the last one going and save seeds! Should know in a couple of days. Your seeds seem to germinate really fast! Mine is in a damp paper towel in a plastic bag but maybe should have sown in starting mix on a heating mat. Each year some seeds do better in one or the other. It can be very mixed. We'll see!

Re: Muddy Bucket Farm Exhales
It's sooo good to see some success in these days - I was more than happy when my old seeds from 2009 germinated within 5 days. But those from 2008 are still sleeping, sigh... But I won't give up!
Good luck with all your babies, Ted!

Thanks, Lady Friend. I've just this morning noted that I have good germ on one your grandson would be interested in.
