I'm sorry to hear that you have been under the weather. Shingles is no fun for anyone . I'm glad that you are now employed and on the mend.

Hang in there, @Dawn. Shingles is no fun as I learned when my mother had it in the days before th4e vaccine. You better believe I got mine as soon as I was eligible. Well, I did procrastinate a bit when I heard Medicare was going to cover the cost.

Anyone working 20 years somewhere deserves a time out before opening a new chapter in life! I'm glad you got a job that quickly.

Just a small update, no photos. The new job was too much, to physical, hours sucked, schedule was nightmare, boss liked piling too much on my plate and telling me everything I did wrong, and berating me for being slow (I wasn't, I've got no problem working fast and efficiently, no person could do all that work in the time given). I started applying again and thankfully got a new option right away. I told my boss today that I had a new job starting next week, so I'd be out after this week. Yeah, I couldn't even give 2 weeks, even if the new job allowed it (it probably would, but I couldn't do it anymore). I actually only have Saturday left, and it should be an ok day, because bosses aren't there and I'll be working with my favorite coworkers. I really like them, I'll miss them, but I won't miss the job.

In the mean time, my garden has suffered. I can barely move when I get home, so yard work is not happening besides the bare minimum of keeping things alive. New job has better hours, and more consistent schedules, and is less physically demanding, so I should be back in gardening mode in no time.

Next gardening projects include 2 new fruit trees and a black currant to plant tomorrow. And a new reciprocating saw with pruning blade to take down a tree of heaven that got away from me and got too big for the loppers.

Thanks everyone, new job is so so much better. Schedule is a little wonky at the moment, but it starts to settle down now. It's a part time job, but was split between 2 weeks in such a way that I had 6 days in a row with 43 hours total. Which I know is fine for most people, but I'm not used to working that much these days. But that stretch is over and it's just a regular 32 hour week now, so I can focus on the garden again.

I must have had some foresight about the last several weeks when I "invented" the sunken bed method, because the tomatoes in that bed are big and thriving, while the raised bed tomatoes are barely hanging on. Today, I'll get them weeded and we'll be back in business, but I think there might be something to this method for me. I think I might take the beds out next year and go back to in ground beds, whether sunken or not.

My tomatoes aren't doing anything photo-worthy, but look at all the raspberries!

It was a productive 2 days in the garden. Lots of weed eating, mowed the lawn, pulled all the weeds from the raised beds. There were a ton, my rabbit was a little overwhelmed 😂. But what she can't eat makes bedding in her pen. Hot days coming this weekend, so plant matter in there will help (she comes in when it's too hot, but it won't get that hot). Then the nursery put a bunch of their fruit trees on clearance. So now I have more trees. I have 2 fruit trees, Red Haven peach and methley plum, that I got from Stark Bros $18.16 sale, but they're not bouncing back from shipping, so I don't know if they'll survive. The new trees are another Red Haven peach, Shiro plum, and Elephant Heart plum.

Here they are, the first tomatoes of the season! Maglia Rosa, Green Tiger, Lucky Tiger. Possibly in that order

Nice! My Maglia Rosas are exactly at the same stage too. Little unripe promises of future happiness :)
